This is a Diebenkorn still life to give us inspiration for next term starting on August 4th
we will start off with a tonal study in grey and white in grisaille.Learning how to manage getting tones in the right relationship to one another.
for those who have already done this many times they can do a limited palette study if they choose to.
this is a Chardin
I like the idea of bring glass into the equation like he did
and like Diebenkorn did here
but i think we will have a flower perhaps too
Your job is to find some interesting white objects for the still life for the first day plus an interesting glass
this is a painting that Amanda Deane did some time back..this glass is what i mean…it refracts the image somewhat..this is a limited palette painting…very nice too
EXERCISE TWO
Then for the second work we do we will bring colour in
I have found some nice green plates which we could paint with a bright red apple or two on.
here we will be looking at colour through the lense of tone
your job here is to find some coloured objects to paint.
it could be a red stapler and a blue hanky.
an orange rose and a pink vase
start thinking outside the square and putting all the objects you find into a box ready to bring
do confirm with me if you are coming this term pleease
cheers
Belinda
